Rubi Glass is a husband and wife team that creates unique fine Hand-blown Art Glass.  Carlos and Sophia have been blowing glass together for 20 years. We produce avant-garde art glass, sculpture, lighting, and mixed media. In 1995 we became head of the glassblowing department for Evans Designs, a nationally recognized firm making fine art home accessories, this launched our career as full time glass artist.  While working for Evans, a subsidiary Company was created, Fusion Z, Carlos designed for art to be brought to the USA from blowers in the Czech Republic.  In the year 2000 we began Rubi Glass, which became a full dedication of our hearts and creative energy. Since establishing Rubi Glass, we have made our sole careers as glassblowers, working steadily to fulfill our dreams of creating original works of art and custom commissions available for all to view and purchase.

 

One of our greatest pleasures is discusing a dream or vision with a client and working collaboratively. Our refined design abilities turn ideas into a custom works of art. Design is a process, understanding a clients inspirations and expectations is our specialty. Rubi Glass lighting and chandeliers are a prime example of this process, as each project is different and made specifically to suit the functional and aesthetic desires of the client.

 

With our private studio in the coastal town of Arroyo Grande, California, we are surrounded by the sand dunes, Eucalyptus bluffs and vineyards. We are appreciative of  nature and the beautiy of the environment, these concepts flow into our glass designs of color and free blown forms. Color combinations have been inspired by earth tones, golden sunsets and deep ocean blue greens. Only the finest quality crystal is used to create our one of a kind art. We are thankful everyday to be glass blowers/designers and greatfull of the support of our patrons to create unique works of art.
